This project became a powerful opportunity to delve into dark themes and blood-soaked metaphors. It offered a raw and twisted lens through which to visualize the aftermath of a breakup—how someone, scarred by a painful relationship, finds the strength to move forward. Yet beneath it all, the narrative still pulsed with the sharp undertones of revenge.
My task was to visualize and animate the music cover for Salom Tanhoi by Malohat, a title that translates to Hello Loneliness. Inspired by gothic and vampire aesthetics, I chose to craft the imagery as if it were a series of aged, timeworn paintings—breathing new life into them through subtle, haunting movements.
THE HEART
A bleeding human heart, torn open and trembling with life. Her hands drip with crimson, while her eyes vanish into shadows, concealing every trace of mercy. She has wrenched a heart from another’s chest, standing pale and cold as if carved from moonlight. The entire vision unfolds like an old, ruined painting—fragile, haunted, and eternal.
THE TOWER
This is an old tower, inverted and sharpened like a wooden stake. Around it, bleeding clocks embody the passage of time—draining away until nothing remains. Just as with life itself, time bleeds out, and eventually dies. The specific time shown on the clock carries a deeply personal meaning, one I choose to keep hidden.
(Although there is a real tower resembling this, I altered its details. The theme has no connection to the actual structure—I was simply captivated by its form.)
THE WINGS
This is a story about reclaiming strength and taking back control of her life. At last, she can write her own fate—inscribing it with her own blood, a powerful symbol of pain transformed into resilience. And within the darkness, a warm light flickers, offering a fragile yet undeniable glimpse of hope.
THE PARTS OF A STORY
Three paintings represent the three stages of a love story described in the song:
The Tower - the stage of breakup, sharp and piercing, like being stubbed in a back.
The Heart - The stage of fury, where anger consumes her, and she is ready to tear his heart out.
The Wings - the stage of acceptance, where pain transforms into strength, allowing her to rise above it.
I hope you can feel the atmosphere of the visuals- they gain even more power when paired with the song itself. And despite all the darkness woven into themes, I wanted the story to end with a glimmer of hope, a faint nut undeniable light breaking through.
